Bond Hill resident died during trip to Alabama BY SHARON MORGAN The Cincinnati Enquirer Gloria Mauryce Smith-Tucker, a retired teacher, was visiting relatives in her hometown of Ozark, when she suffered an aneurysm March 24, four days before her birthday. The Bond Hill resident was 69. "She was very creative," said a sister-in-law, Doris Blaine-Smith of Roselawn. "She also, prepared meals for other seniors and delivered them.

She will be missed," she said. Her family described her as a good listener, lovable and caring. For 33 years, she taujht elementary students at Stowe and Herjerle schools in the West End, Schiel in Corryville and Windsor School in Walnut Hills. She retired in the late 1980s from Windsor. She received the Distinguished Teacher Award from Cincinnati Public Schools.

Mrs. Smith-Tucker was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority mond, schools for two years. She married her college sweetheart, Walter R. Tucker Sr. and moved to Cincinnati.

Her husband, preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith-Tucker is survived by two sons, Walter R. Tucker Jr. of East Walnut Hills and Jeffrey Tucker of Tampa, her mother, Willie S.

Smith of Ozark; and four grandchildren. Her body will be cremated. MATTEOLI William age 81, of Venice, FL. He was born January 20, 1918 in Covington, KY and died March 30, 1999, in Venice, FL. He was the plant manager for Emery Industries, Cincinnati. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati and was a Navy Vetaran. He was a member of Sigma Delta Gamma Fraternity and the American Legion.

He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Josephine and son Gary R. He is survived by two sons, WiHiam A. of Clearwater, FL. and David R. of Ft.

Pierce, two sisters, Delia Mae Thurner of Cincinnati, OH. and Eunice Houston of Springfield, OH, four grandchildren, Mr. brewer geles; thre- brothers, Dr BY SHARON MORGAN The Cincinnati Enquirer John William "Bill" Brewer, a former bus driver for Cincinnati Transit at Brighton Division, now Metro, died of a heart attack at his Carson, home. He was 79; Relatives said he was a storyteller with a grejt sense of humor. ''He purchased (toys for boys) for his nieces on Christmas, so he could play with them," said a sister, Mary Brewer of East Walnut Hills.

Mr. Brewer lived in the East Walnut Hills are while working for Metro from 1953 to 1969. He moved to Los Angeles where he had tha same occupation until retiring in the late 1980s. He also served as president of the Federal Credit Union in Los Angeles. 'He was an active member at Judson Baptist Church in Los Angeles, where he served as treasurer, deacon and in the men's chorus.

Bruck Scrap Metal in Covington with 14 bleacher seats in the back of their pickup, recyclers called Kenton County police. The men were gone by the time police arrived, but the recyclers had names and addresses. On Tuesday, police arrested Joseph Schnabl, 20, of Independence and Nathan Jackson, 22, of Elsmere. Both face felony theft charges. The men had gotten about $300 when they cashed in some of the park seats at another Covington recycling center Sunday, police said.
