Following in order were Grace Ed's Cafe, Frank's Bait Shop, Baber Cabs Risking Much for Chance to Win Since the plan to name a "disinterested party" as sheriff of Kenton county until after the November election failed to materialize, due to the financial difficulties in which the appointee would find himself, it seems altogether the most jeasonable course of action to have Carl Ruh named sheriff, he having been the second choice in a very close primary election in which former Sheriff Sam Furste won in 1957.

Mr. Ruh is a candidate for election for the unexpired term of Mr. Furste, There no doubt will be other candidates. A lively primary campaign can be expected with the nomination of a Democrat being made on May 26. A Republican also could be nominated.

Since the fees from tax collections will not be in any great quantity until November and December, after a newly-elected sheriff takes office, one must realize that Mr. Ruh, in accepting the interim appointment, will resolve that he must win the election in order to get back money he will have to lay out from now until November to pay the salaries of deputies, pay for bond and the operation of the office. The situation was one from which many "hopefuls" steered away and Mr. Ruh, who has had a keen desire to be sheriff of the county, has exhibited considerable courage and daring in accepting the appointment just made. p0i, Audrey's Reducing Salon and Yorkshire Foods.
