Ida May Grimsey Services for Mrs. Ida Grimsey, 132 W. Sixth Covington, will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow the Allison Rose runerati home, Covington. Burial be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Mrs. Grimsey died Sunday at her home. A native of West Virginia, she had lived in Kenton County most of her life. She was 74 years old. Surviving her are her husband, Frank, and a daughter, Mrs.

Louise Harshman, Youngstown, Ohio. George Walter George Walter, a retired Newport city employee, died yesterday morning home in St. Luke Hospital. His was at 525 Thornton Newport. He was 8 86 years old.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna Groeschen Walter: a daughter, Mrs. Emma Meyer, Cincinnati; five sons, Jacob Walter, Highland Heights; Elmer Walter, Newport; George Ft. Wright; Raymond Walter, Southgate, and Martin Walter, Cold Spring, and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Kaufman, Cincinnati, and Mrs.

Minnie Guy, Bellevue. Services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Radel neral home, Newport. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Maude Rippetow Services for Mrs. Maude Rippetoe will be held at 2 p. m. today at the Glenn Fork, Methodist Church. Mrs.

Rippetoe, who was 74 years old, died Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Robert L. Hopperton of Dry Ridge. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Corinne Britton, DeMossville, and Mrs.

Harry Richard, Cincinnati; two sons, James Rippetoe, Jeffersonville, and Rufus Rippetoe, Cincinnati; a brother, Willie Helm, who now lives in New Jersey; halfbrother, Henry Helm, Burgin, Ky. The Thomas Shotwell funeral home, Falmouth, is in charge of arrangements. Sherman Barberick Services for Barberick, who died Monday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Covington, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Swindler funeral home, Independence.

Burial will take in Independence Cemetery. Mr. Barberick, who was a farmer, resided at Morning View. He was 61 years old. He is survived by his widow, Mrs.

Elizabeth Neihoss Barberick; daughters, Miss Betty Barberick, Georgetown, and Mrs. Donald Dressman, Morning View; a stepson, ren Van Horn; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Finnell, and Misses Julia, Frances and Nora Barberick, and three brothers, Frank, Lewis, and Jesse Barberick, all of Morning View, Mrs. W. Krieger Mrs. William A. Krieger, a Newport physician for many years, died yesterday in the Baptist Home, Newport. She was 69 years old. Mrs.

Krieger was born in Bellevue and had lived in Newport for 45 years before removing to 18 Fairfield Ft. Thomas, several years ago. She was a former president of the Women's Auxiliary of LIBERTY Continuous 11 A. M. te 11 P.

William Cody Requiem High Mass for liam Cody, a former resident of Kenton County widely known in racing circles of Chicago and Miami, will be sung at m. Friday in Mother of God Church, Covington. Burial will take place in St.

Mary Cemetery. Mr. Cody was on his way to Covington from Miami when he suffered a heart attack Horse Cave, and died at a hospital there Monday night. He was 64 years old. Mr.

Cody was in charge of the money rooms at the Tropical Park and Miami racetracks in "Florida and at four tracks in Chicago. He divided his time between Chicago and Miami but always found time to visit a few weeks each year with a sister, Mrs. Amelia Westbay, 602 Garrard Covington. When he became ill recently at Miami, he asked that his nephew Thomas Westbay fly down and drive him back to Covington. He was a native of Covington, and his father, the late Col.

Thomas Cody, once ran the concessions at the old Latonia Racetrack. His father also was one of the owners of the 72-acre tract now known as Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The Hugenberg Niemeyer funeral home, Covington, is in charge of arrangements. John G. Willen FLORENCE.

Charles Deaton Charles Deaton, a retired steelworker, died yesterday in Booth Hospital, Covington. Mr. Deaton, who was 71 years old, had been employed by the Acme-Newport Steel Co.

Catherine Young Clymer, formerly of Ludlow, died last night in University Hospital, Philadelphia, after a long illness. She was 35 years old. She is survived by her husband, Ralph, and a daughter, Vivian, both of Philadelphia; her mother, Mrs. Laura Young, Ludlow; a sister, Mrs. Loretta Tenhundfeld, Newport, and a brother, Calvin Young, Baltimore.

Burial will be in Philadelphia. Everett Taylor Everett Alvin Taylor, 44, died yesterday at the 1 home of his sister, Mrs. John Delenickas, Williamstown. Surviving him are two other sisters, Mrs. Paula Gaddis, Science Hill, G.

The Coates funeral home, Williamstown, is in charge locally. Maude Rippetoe Bernard J. Reynolds, a retired plumber and former resident of Newport and Ft. Thomas, died yesterday at St. Francis Hospital, Cincinnati.

He had been living recently at 5228 Ralph Covedale. He was 70 years old. Mr. Reynolds is survived by his widow, Mrs. Agnes Reynolds; his daughter, Mrs.

Mary Agnes Hallbach, Cincinnati; two sons, Bernard R. Reynolds, Highland Heights, and Edward D. Reynolds, Ft. Thomas, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Schaefer, Bellevue.

Native Of Cynthiana Decorated For Organizing Defense System ORLANDO AIR FORCE BASE, Florida, June 2 (Special) -Recognition for outstanding service in organizing an air defense system the heartland of the United States for, was given Brig. Gen. Clifford H. Rees, commander of the Air Photographic and Charting Service, recently in ceremonies at Orlando Air Force Base. A second Oak Leaf Cluster was added to the Legion of Merit held by General Rees, a native of Cynthiana.

The citation, read as the award was presented during a parade and review of troops in honor of the General, commended the former commander of the 20th Air Division, Defense, for the efficient organization of the he air defense unit in bringing it to combat readiness in a minimum time. Maj. Gen. Frederic E. Glantzburg, deputy commander of the Military Air Transport Service headquartered at Scott AFB, Belleville, decorated GenRees with the Oak Leaf Cluster which signifies the third awarding of the Legion of Merit to the APSC commander.

Previously he was awarded the first Oak Leaf Cluster to the Legion of Merit in 1945. Cemetery, Lewis County, was 23 years old. General Rees, a 49-year-old Pointer, became the commander of the 20th Air Division of the Central Air Defense Force when it was organized on October 8, 1955. Under his guidance the nearly 5500-man Air Division became operational on March 1, 1956.

It was responsible for the defense from enemy attack for the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Missouri. An example of General Rees' effective organization of the unit occurred only four months after the 20th AD became an operational unit. It fielded a rocketry team which won the 1956 Central Air Defense rocketry meet and later competed in the world-wide rocketry meet held at Yuma, Ariz. Following his successful organization of the Air Defense Division, General Rees assumed his present command the world-wide operations of the Air Photographic and Charting Service at this Military Air Transport Service installation on March 20, 1958. Prior to his assignment with the Central Air Defense Force in September, 1954, General Rees served overseas in the European Theater as Chief of Staff of the Allied Forces, Northern Europe, and as an instructor in the NATO Defense College in Paris. The General has also served on assignments throughout the United States and Hawaii after completing flying training in 1933, as commander of the 307th Bombardment Group in 1944 and, in 1945, as executive to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel for Headquarters USAF, in the Pentagon. He also commanded the 1st Fighter Wing, the 92d and 98th Bombardment Wings during the Korean conflict and served as the Chief of Staff of the Strategic Air Command's Eighth Air Force. General and Mrs. Rees, the former Mary Evelyn Brooks of Abilene, are now residing in family quarters on Orlando Air Force Base.

They have two sons, Clifford H. 21, a student and future Air Force officer in the AF Reserve Officers Training Corps at Georgetown University, Washington, and David, a junior in high school, who is an Eagle Scout.
