"He told Officer Goodlet that if he wasn't going to shoot him and he wasn't going to arrest him on the warrant, he (Goodlet) should go out to the parking lot that his wife was dead in the back seat of his car and that he had strangled her," the sheriff said. Becher said the body of Pollard's estranged wife, Jo Ann Pollard, 36, of Jeffersonville, was found in the car. Pollard was arrested immediately. He was held on a preliminary charge of murder, pending an initial hearing Tuesday before Clark Circuit Court Judge Daniel T. known as "The Happy Hunters," travel the globe conducting "Healing Explosions." They spent Wednesday and Thursday in Louisville demonstrating to "healing teams" the art of laying on of hands, speaking in tongues and collecting money.

"How many want to lay your hands on everything you can get your hands on?" the 500 people were asked by Mrs. Hunter. About a thousand hands shot in the air. "How many can hardly wait to get your hands on those sick people?" "How many know if Charles and Frances can do it, you can too?" Mrs. Hunter said she "drank, swore and told dirty jokes" before she went "stinking in my martinis" to her salvation after an automobile crash in Florida 23 years ago.

She and her husband, a former accountant, were married in 1970 after both were widowed. THE ASSOCIATED PRESS LOUISVILLE, Ky. When faith-healer Charles Hunter announced that he would conduct "one miracle" at a training session for 500 people promised "resurrection power," a man with a herniated disc walked forward. "I'm going to call into being a new disc," Hunter said as he directed the man to sit erect in a chair. "OK, here goes the miracle." 11 He held the man's legs straight out by the ankles in a maneuver called "growing out legs." He prayed a little and said, "It's gone." The man got up and said there was still a touch of pain on the left side.

Hunter then took the man in a hug and told "the pain to go away "in the name of Jesus." He 'held the man at arms' length and told him, we're not talking about stiffness." i' Man: "There is a little stiffness." Hunter: "But no pain?" Man: "No pain." THE ASSOCIATED PRESS JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. A Jeffersonville man drove his estranged wife's lifeless body to police headquarters before dawn Friday and demanded that he be arrested, police said. Ruhle T. Pollard, 36, was distraught when he entered the City-County Building about 4 a.m. and told a dispatcher in the sheriff's office that he wanted to be arrested on an outstanding warrant, said Clark County Sheriff Mike Becher.

Dispatcher Harold Goodlet could find no warrant for Pollard and refused to arrest him. "At that point, he (Pollard) became even more upset and told Officer Goodlet he should shoot It's fun to heal the sick. I love it. Charles Hunter faith-healer Hunter: "Say thank you, Jesus." Man: "Thank you, Jesus." The man turned out to be Leonard Iacurci, a retiree from Dayton, Ohio, who had had a different back problem healed a year earlier by another healer. He also had a bad knee, but he forgot to mention it to Hunter.

That was Wednesday night, and the next morning Iacurci confirmed the cure. He can get up out of a chair straight now. Before he stooped. His wife agreed. Said Hunter, "It's fun to heal the sick.

I love it." Hunter and his wife, Frances, who are.
