The Norwood company, which mmmmmmm produces State news SSS ing centers, would receive $3 million to help it expand and relocate its manufacturing operations in Mason, Ohio. The largest loan, $7.2 million, would go to Harvard Industries of New Jersey to help it reopen Hayes Albion iron foundry in Tiffin, Ohio. Hayes Albion makes castings for the transportation industry.

Other loans: $150,000 to help Blanchard Abrasives move manufacturing operations from Massachusetts to Ashtabula, Ohio. $150,000 to help Starr Fabricating of Warren, Ohio, expand its operations into Vienna, Ohio. $87,500 for an expansion project at Chieffo Frozen Foods, Inc. of Niles, Ohio. And they did it with such Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Phoenix, Philadelphia, New York, San Diego, Seattle and San Francisco. Susan Scherrer, 39, of Bridgetown, collected $2,120 in pledges the most pledges for Cincinnati's workout.

She got it by cajoling friends and business acquaintances to "give us what they would spend on a Friday night out." She wasn't even winded when she stopped midway through the session to sip water. She keeps her 108 pounds in shape by exercising "three times a week for my life," she said. Lisa Ohmer, of Price Hill, raised $85 for her efforts Saturday, which soaked the back of her blue leotard in sweat but left her full of energy. "I feel great I'm still ready to go," Ohmer said. "I'm 29, and I'll be going until I'm 89." gusto the floor shook.

They did it for money exercising from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to raise a total of $15,118 for the City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute in Duarte, Calif. Billed as the First National "Friends for Life" Workout, the event required participants to pay a $10 fee or collect pledges to sponsor their exercise frenzy.
