Mr. Northlich, a historian and a collector of Civil War memorabilia, founded the Lake County Civil War Roundtable in Florida. BY MARGARET J.

FRANKLIN The Cincinnati Enquirer William Northlich, the founder of Northlich Stolley LaWarre, one of Cincinnati's largest advertising and public-relations agencies, died Saturday in Mount Dora, Fla. He was 87. The agency evolved from Farson, Huff and Northlich in 1949 to Northlich Stolley Inc. in 1969 to today's Northlich Stolley LaWarre, a company with $46 million in annual billings. Among its clients are Procter Gamble Beckett Paper, Fifth Third Bancorp, Jewish Hospitals, and the garage door and plastics divisions of Clopay Corp.

Mr. Northlich retired as president in 1969 and as chairman in 1988. He was known for his "principles of quality and big thinking," said Alexander Stolley, an owner and past president of the firm. "Bill Northlich was a moving force and created an extraordinary foundation for Cincinnati as an advertising community," Stolley said. "His most outstanding accomplishment was starting the business from scratch he started it on a shoestring," Stolley said.

"His strength as a disciplined marketer, and his dedication to quality formed the linchpin in the success and growth of the agency. He was also a generous contributor to the life of the community." Mr. Northlich was a member of professional advertising organizations, was a past commodore of the Mount Dora Yacht Northlich stolley said. But he will be most remembered for "his wonderful way with people," Stolley said. "He struck many, if not most, people as a warm and understanding person interested in their well-being," Stolley said.

William LaWarre, chief executive officer of the firm, said, "We've lost a friend. Bill's founding wisdom and dedication continue to serve each of us in the agency today." Mr. Northlich was a 1927 graduate of the University of Illinois and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He retired to Mount Dora in 1969. 125, Amelia, Friday April 2 from Noon until 3:00 P.M. Funeral Service at 3:00 P.M. Interment, Monroe Cemetery, No-cholsville, Ohio. WINKLER Fredrick J. A prominent architect and creator of much of the architecture of Hamilton, Ohio for over 50 years.

Fredrick J. Winkler, age 82, of 790 Elm-wood Road, Hamilton, died at his residence at 6:00 A.M. on March 27, 1993. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on December 11, 1910, the son of Fredrick and Louisa (Kupper) Winkler. Mr.

Winkler served as a lieutenant in the United States Navy during World War II, from 1941-1945. Upon his return to Hamilton, Ohio, he resumed his architectural practice that he began earlier in 1934 after his graduation from the University of Cincinnati, College of Fine Arts. One of his first major architectural commissions was West Park Housing Development, which involved the master plan and design of homes for returning war veterans. In the course of his active architectural practice, he founded the firm Winkler, Ranck and Beeghly and proceeded to produce many varied architectural projects, involving residential, public housing, commercial and ecclesiastical commissions until his retirement in 1980. His love for the Miami Valley and for Hamilton, Ohio was eloquently stated In the introduction that he wrote for the book, Hamilton, Ohio, It's Architecture and History, published in 1986.

His activities within the community involved his participation on the board of directors of the Home Federal. He married Elizabeth Harbit in 1938 and she preceded him in death October 31, 1979. He is survived by a son, Mr. John H. Winkler and wife, Mary Jean, of New York City; a daughter, Mrs.

Elizabeth Morris and husband, Donald, of Hamilton; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Morris. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Winkler and a sister, Erma Hughes. Private services will be held at the Webb-Noonan Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South Street at the convenience of the family, with the Rev. Dr. Gary K.

Sturni, Rector Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Hamilton Community Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Hospitals: 'Grade' due today Cincinnati Hospital Council.

"I firmly believe the businesses will act upon the information they receive. What the fallout will be remains to be seen." "It would be better for the community if the public had the information," said Jon Vereeke, president of the Employer Health Care Alliance, a coalition of 70 local companies also concerned about health-care costs. Olman said it may not matter whether the public ever sees the data. "Once it comes out which hospitals the 'Big Four' have selected, that'll be good enough for everyone else," Olman said. "They will influence other businesses in town without having to share the actual data." "We see the data as a tool to use internally," said Susan Wilcox, assistant administrator of clinical affairs at University Hospital.

"The data can point out areas we need to work on." Hospitals that do well in the study will have an opportunity to gain much more patient volume, said Victor DiPilla, assistant vice president at Christ Hospital. CONTINUED FROM PAGE B-l system, none has access to data as detailed as the Iameter study and none has as much economic clout as "the Big Four." Combined, the four companies provide health-care benefits for more than 48,000 employees, and an estimated 120,000 dependents and retirees. They plan to use the Iameter study, which will include some 1993 figures when complete, to decide which hospitals will get their business. The mere effort to produce this report card has been shaking up the local hospital industry for more than a year. To look good in the study, administrators have begun pushing their laboratories for quicker results, and looking for ways doctors and nurses can provide more cost-effective care.

The process also has recently begun attracting national attention, including a presentation before Hillary Rodham Clinton's health-care reform task force and coverage in the Wall Street Journal. "I don't know exactly what she signed.

I wasn't there." Crytzer contends she was under "psychological duress" when she negotiated the release for a $30,000 payment, and that she was "coerced" into signing it without a full understanding of it and without competent advice. Stachler took Crytzer through the release in detail, asking her repeatedly whether she noticed the multiple uses of the word "release" on every page. Crytzer replied in each instance that she had not noticed the wording, if indeed that had been what she signed. The defense says Perry made no attempt to disguise the nature of the document in telephone conversations with Crytzer. "(Crytzer) is claiming these players raped her," defense attorney Peter Byrnes told reporters later, "but that she had come to trust them to the point that before she signed a document sent to her by these same players and their attorney, she didn't feel the need to read it.

It's absurd." Eymann told reporters afterward that he didn't think the day's testimony was damaging to Crytzer's case. "I don't think the jury cares about this," he said. "I think they're thinking of their own human experience, when people say one thing and then something else on another occasion. I think. Mr.

Stachler is missing the big picture." CONTINUED FROM PAGE B-l prints on each page of the document. The three pages are marked as Page 2, Page 3 and Page 4 (Page 1 being the cover letter), and are marked as having been sent consecutively from Perry's office between 2:17 and 2:18 p.m. Oct. 4, 1991. Defense attorneys have argued such imprints cannot be "faked." Stachler noted that Crytzer referred to three pages in a sworn declaration earlier this month.

"I did not read this (declaration)," she said. "My attorneys did this. I did not write this. My attorneys did." She explained that she had signed the declaration without reading it because her attorneys "wanted it back as quickly as possible." Stachler read from the transcript of the opening trial statement by Victoria Vree-land, Crytzer's co-counsel. Vreeland told the jury Crytzer "believes she signed a two-page document." But Vreeland went on to say the document Crytzer signed "must be the release of all claims that the court read to you.

(The same document the defense claims is the release). So we don't dispute that." Crytzer co-counsel Richard Eymann said after court was adjourned that Stachler "took (Vreeland's) statement out of context," but he did not elaborate. Eymann told reporters he and Vreeland "are not suggesting any hanky-panky" by attorney Perry. He said Crytzer perceives he signed a twoipage document.
